Weightloss and the Fat/Acid Connection
Weightloss vs Acid
"We're Not Overweight - - We're Over ACID!"...
Rather than giving you some tips on weightloss, I will strive to explain the acid/fat connection and give you some healthy living ideas to try.
Relax... it won’t be as hard as you think, or fear. I’m going to share some old principles that have been forgotten, but haven’t changed over time. They may have been forgotten, but the good news is... they still work! Many people in today’s society want to, or need to, lose some weight. Are You In This Category? The desire for weightloss may be for medical reasons, or maybe it’s because we’d just like to be slimmer. Whatever the reason, we only have two problems; losing the extra pounds, and then keeping them off! By the way, I read in the Swedish Newspaper ‘Aftonbladet’ that research has shown that weightloss, or being slim, is the highest goal on many people’s wish list, even ranking above getting married or making new friends! Many of us have tried one diet or another for losing weight fast; quite often it’ll be for ‘that special occasion’. Some of us will even have attempted to change lifestyles completely. In most cases we work very hard at weightloss only to find the kilos come back, with a vengeance! Then they park themselves, plus a few more, somewhere on the body... and it’s usually right where we least want them! This isn’t entirely our own fault..read on... Acid and Fat Cells Dr. Robert Young states ‘We’re not overweight - - we’re over acid!’ Our body is an incredible creation. It will, and does, anything and everything in its power to protect itself. One of its primary tasks is to keep our blood pH stable within extremely close tolerances. The pH scale is from 1 (extreme acid) to 14 (extreme alkaline), 7 being neutral.

Our blood pH has to remain within 7.35 to 7.45, which, as you can see, is a VERY small ‘window of operation’ slightly on the alkaline side of neutral.
Too acid and we get very sick, very fast... or we could even die. To help you understand the basic principles behind weightloss, I first have to clarify what our body actually does when it accumulates too much acid. We are designed to eat and drink mostly Alkaline food and water. Now, that becomes a problem when the supermarket shelves are filled with over 80% acidy stuff and our ‘normal’ water supply adds free radicals to our bodies! (accelerating the aging process.) Even though our food and water goes through many different bodily processes, we may well become more acidic than we desire. On top of this, many emotions, like worry, anger and fear may create yet more acid.
Stress is another acid-producer and it is well known that over 70% of all illnesses may be stress-related. That is the acid/health connection and it is fairly well known and accepted. But, not many have heard that stress (and all those other feelings) can be a cause, or at least part of the problem, of overweight... It can! To clarify this acid/fat connection... When we eat or drink more acid ‘stuff’ than the body can handle at any one time, it will ‘capsulate’ the acid in FAT CELLS, so the acid doesn’t harm us, and then store these fat cells anywhere it can. Remember, your body mechanism is permanently in Protect Mode! That’s great... Now, if we could just alkalize the body so the acid can go away through the lymph system. If the acid goes away, the fat cells don’t really have anything to do, and so they would go away too. The result. WE LOSE WEIGHT... get slimmer... more alkaline... and HEALTHIER Simplicity itself, except...
The problem arises when we can’t alkalize, or don’t get the toxins out of our bodies. The acid toxins are capsulated in the fat cells, so it just stays there... and we look FAT! How can we be expected to alkalize our body when most of our food supply is acidic, and our water supply is not alkaline? As a masseuse, I can often feel the toxin build-up in a clients body. Toxin deposits feel very different to muscle tightness under the fingers! The clients can feel the difference too... it hurts more, and it’s a different sort of pain to muscle soreness! If we were to just to lose FAT and not the acid, the body will draw alkaline properties from your bones and muscles, to keep the body’s blood pH in that narrow window, and the whole acid and fat cell routine starts again. This is one reason that fad diets DO NOT WORK!!! Easy, Basic Steps for Weightloss STEP I. Drink Alkaline, Micro-Clustered, Negative ORP Water. i.e. Kangen Water Sounds easy, but most people don’t! Our bodies consist of around 75% water, so we need to maintain this percentage for a strong and healthy system. So what does all this water do?
Here are just a few examples: - Water is essential for digesting food.
- It is also the fundamental transporter for getting rid of various toxic elements from the body, in the form of urine, sweat and faecal matter.
- Water acts as a shock absorber for our joints.
- The water that is present in our blood is the carrier of oxygen and nutrients to every single one of our body cells.
- Water present in lymph (explained later on this page) helps to clean out all the ‘rubbish’ from our body.
- Water helps to regulate and maintain our body temperature.
- Water prevents dehydration See full list of how that can manifest itself in the body
STEP 2. Eat More Alkaline Food The best foods to eat are legumes (peas, beans and lentils), vegetables and fruit. The rest are just add-ons!
Of course, most people don’t eat many, or enough of this food group. This diet would soon be in the ‘too-hard basket’. Just think of it this way, how often would you deliberately put WRONG FUEL in your car... and what would the consequences be? Anyway, start to eat a few more foods in this food group, but you can still eat the other things you like too. Old Eastern Philosophy suggests 70% alkaline food and 30% acid. (acid food is most proteins, red meat, fats, white bread, sweets, sodas and alcohol). Like most things in life, this is a process, make a change towards the goal (better food) instead of avoiding the things you want, or like, better. After a while the body may tell you what IT wants to eat! You may well be surprised! STEP 3. Exercise and Movement Yes, we have all heard that exercise is great for burning off calories. But we’re not talking ‘keep fit’ or athletic training here. We’re talking weightloss! Most of us don’t know, or have never been taught, that light exercise or moderate movement is actually essential to weightloss. We have to move the ‘rubbish’ (lymph) from our body. Lymph is part of the body’s filtration system. This filtration system is everywhere between your blood vessels and your cells. Its job is to clean up all the rubbish, like dead cells, bacteria and waste products of every day metabolism. Just like a vacuum cleaner! When the lymph has done its cleaning, (to explain simply) it goes and dumps the ‘ rubbish’ at certain places, like ‘doors’, in the blood system. The blood system then takes the waste products to the liver filtration system, and the body gets rid of it from there! I said the body was amazing, didn’t I? One drawback with the Lymph System is that it doesn’t have its own pump, (like the blood system has the heart), but relies on us to move. So it’s vital that we act as its driving force to shift the acid and rubbish out! If we have a lot of excess weight, it may be a good idea to start slowly with the exercise. Walking, Swimming, Dancing, Playing, you name it, just about anything will do. The aim is to ‘Move That Lymph’. Get rid of the Acid so the FAT cells don’t have anything to do in our body... and they’ll disappear with our weightloss problem. Just remember, too much exercise creates more acid in the muscles (lactic acid), and, in the beginning, it is the acid we want to get rid of. We need to get rid of the backlog! One little secret I’d like to share with you is that Massage (why not an Aromatherapy massage for the added benefits) is a great way to shift lymph in the body. By the way, so is Reflexology and Cupping. Three Easy Principles, Only One ‘You’ OK, I have given you three simple ways to get your body healthier, and LOSE WEIGHT at the same time. It sounds easy. Still, it is up to you to take the first step. 1. Water. (I’d recommend Kangen Water for its unique qualities) 2. Food. Remember the 70-30 rule and strive for it. It may not always happen. Don’t worry, (worry causes acid!) just enjoy the better and healthier food habits. 3. Exercise and Movement to shift the Acid/Toxin/Lymph As every journey is different and everybody has different experiences, I would be happy to hear from you when you have used these 3 Easy Principles of Weightloss. I’m sure it will be a successful weightloss story.
